STORY SCRIPT:

Thailand’s Atthaya Thitikul and Vanchai Luangnitikuln won the Mixed Team Golf gold medal at the Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018.

They beat Lucy Li and Akshay Bhatia of the USA by one shot over the three day tournament.  The first round was four-ball better ball, where the best score from one of the two players counts. The second round was foursomes, where teams used one ball and played alternate strokes. The final round was a cumulative team score of men’s and women’s individual strokeplay scores.

Thailand’s total across the 72 holes was 268, the USA was 269, the bronze medal went to Argentina’s Ela Anacona and Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira who were a further four shots back on 273.
