Marie Krista of Switzerland won gold in a fiercely contested big final of the women’s ski cross at the Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Lausanne 2020.

18-year-old Krista, wearing the red bib, held off Diana Cholenska of the Czech Republic by 0.32 seconds with Russia’s Vladislava Baliukina a further half a second behind in the bronze medal position.

Her Russian Compatriot Marlia Erofeeva did not finish the course.

Krista, from Unterseen in Switzerland, now says she aims for an Olympic medal at the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022.
