It was third time lucky for India in the shooting events at the Youth Olympic Games on Tuesday.

Manu Bhaker clinched the gold medal in the women’s 10m air pistol competition at Buenos Aires 2018. It sits alongside the silver medals won by Shahu Tushar Mane and Mehuli Ghosh, who were runners up in the 10m air rifle competitions in the men’s and women’s events respectively.

16-year-old Bhaker had already won gold medals in the in the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup and the Commonwealth Games earlier this year.

She won gold at Sarmiento Park with a score of 236.5 points.

Russian Iana Enina improved significantly from the early rounds and took the silver, trailing Bhaker by 0.6 points.

Nino Khutsiberidze of Georgia took the bronze medal a further 0.1 points back.
