Description

The IOC offers the following Video News Release to all news agencies, broadcasters and online news platforms free of charge.

Russia’s Anastasia Tsyganova celebrated with relief after winning gold on the historic St Moritz Olympia Bob Run at the Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG).

Tsyganova, who is 16, was fastest on her first run. But she faltered as she strove for victory on the final run of the day, coming home with the fastest overall time of 2:22.50,  just 0.03 ahead of her nearest rival.

It meant Germany’s Josefa Schellmoser had to settle for silver despite a superb final run to threaten Tsyganova. Her compatriot Sissi Schroedl won bronze.
