STORY SCRIPT:

The fourth and last day of judo at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires was a day of mutual understanding and mutual respect as it was dedicated to the mixed team tournament.

Named after the host cities of the Olympic Games, it was the Team Beijing that won the tournament ahead of Team Athens for the silver medals and Team London and Team Rio de Janeiro for the bronze medals.

The gold medal match was a tense affair with the final score of 4-3 clearly reflecting this.

The winning team consisted of Ana Puljiz of Croatia who took a bronze in the women’s 44kg event earlier in the Games, alongside Artsiom Kolasau of Belarus, a gold medal winner in the men’s 55kg category, 15 year old Veronica Toniolo of Italy and Jaykhunbek Nazarov of Uzbekistan.

Itzel Pecha of Mexico, Carlos Páez of Venezuela and Li-Ling Lui of Chinese Taipei completed the team line up.
