Lighting of the Olympic Flame and Handover Ceremonies – Live Feeds Available to Media
On 12 March, the Olympic flame will be lit in front of the ruins of the Temple of Hera in Olympia, Greece. Seven days later, on 19 March, the Olympic Flame will be handed over from Greece to the Host City of Tokyo at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896.
Both events will be covered live by the Olympic Channel, in collaboration with ERT, Greece’s state-owned public radio and television broadcaster. These feeds will be offered free of charge to Media by the International Organising Committee (IOC) and distributed globally through satellite in cooperation with Overon.
Deadline for booking the Olympic Flame Lighting live feed is Friday 06 March 2020.
Deadline for booking the Handover Ceremony live feed is Wednesday 11 March 2020.
