World Junior Champion Liza Pusztai of Hungary now has a gold medal from a Youth Olympic Games after a comfortable victory in the final of the Women’s individual sabre at Buenos Aires 2018.

Pusztai, who is 17, beat Mexico’s Natalia Botello Cervantes 15-9. Her stated ambition was to add an Olympic gold to her World and European winning medals. She did so with relative ease.

She is currently ranked 17th in the world at senior level.

France’s Armand Spichiger beat American Kenji Bravo in the men’s foil final 15-7.
