STORY SCRIPT:

Individual gold in the Show Jumping event at Buenos Aires 2018 went to Giacomo Casadei of Italy.

Five riders went into the Jump-off after completing clear rounds on both Friday and Saturday at the Club Hipico Argentino on the outskirts of the Argentine capital.

Casadei, who’s 18, emerged triumphant aboard his horse Darna Z. The silver medal went to Omar Almarzooqi of the United Arab Emirates, bronze to Pedro Espinosa of Honduras, who had won gold in the team event earlier in the week.

It is important to note that the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) format for Equestrian Jumping is run on borrowed horses, so each rider has to develop a partnership with an unknown horse to compete successfully.
