STORY SCRIPT:

China added to their silver and bronze in athletics on Monday with a gold in the women’s 3kg Shot Put.

Xinhui Li comfortably topped Stage 1 of the competition on Friday with a mark of 18.42m in what proved to be her biggest put of Buenos Aires 2018.

The 17-year-old recorded 18.33m with her third put in the final which proved to be enough to secure the full medal set for China on Monday at Athletics Field.

Staying as it was from Stage 1, Belarus’ Yelizaveta Dorts took silver with her best effort of 17.53m whilst Nina Capatina from Moldova rose from fourth to third to win bronze.
