Singapore 2010

Singapore 2010 is the inaugural edition of the summer Youth Olympic Games (YOG), the premier international event for young athletes ages 15 to 18 to compete at the highest level while providing valuable skills and experiences for their future careers.
Off the field of play, there is an interactive programme of workshops to provide the athletes with skills and experiences for them to share with their friends, families and communities, to be true champions in and out of competition. Supporting the Youth Olympic Games are 29 Athlete Role Models, Olympians who want to share their advice with the next generation of athletes. In addition, 47 Young Ambassadors guide the athletes through the YOG experience and a team of Young Reporters provide coverage from broadcast to blog.
Some of the biggest names in sport help raise the profile of the YOG through promotional campaigns and meeting with the athletes during the Games. Yelena Isinbaeva (RUS), Usain Bolt (JAM) and Michael Phelps (USA) will put their extensive experience and talents to valuable use as Youth Olympic Games Ambassadors for Nanjing 2014.
